One of the rarest microphones made by the original TELEFUNKEN GmbH was the stereo ELA M 270. Serial number 101 was discovered in the early 1980's in Europe and brought to the shores of America where it lived in Ocean Way Studios for many years as the crowned jewel in their world famous microphone collection.

TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik obtained this extraordinary piece of recording technology in order to recreate the design and offer it to the recording industry. Today, the original ELA M 270 resides at Blackbird studios in Nashville, but thanks to TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik, you can have your very own.

Essentially a stereo version of the ELA M 251E, the ELA M 270 is available on a very limited, custom ordered basis, for the most discriminating of audio recordists.

The ELA M 251E is widely revered as a benchmark of hi-fidelity recording technology, and our ELA M 270 offers the same exceptional sonic performance in a stereo package. Perfectly suited for XY, M/S, or Blumlein techniques. Each capsule of the ELA M 270 offers selectable cardioid, bidirectional, or omni polar patterns.

Each TELEFUNKEN ELA M 270 stereo microphone is made to order. Exact custom matching of each component and capsules assures optimal stereo performance. Plus, utilizing either output of the microphone yields the same exceptional results as our TELEFUNKEN ELA M 251E.
